ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Megan

Licensed Clinical Psychologist · PsyD

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in California and New York. My work is grounded in research. I use therapies that clinical studies have shown to help, and I adapt them to your life and goals.

Over my career, I have worked with many women whose mood, anxiety and sense of self were shifting along with their bodies: during fertility treatment, pregnancy, parenthood, and perimenopause. These are often the moments when women feel least like themselves and least sure where to turn. I built this practice around them.

I believe women deserve care that sees the whole picture: body, mind and the life you're living. My style is warm, direct and practical. I listen closely, explain what's happening in plain language, and use evidence-based therapy to help you feel steady again.

GET TO KNOW ME

A few questions, answered

Why did you become a therapist?

Because of my own experience. As a teenager I struggled with anxiety and depression, and a caring therapist and psychiatrist helped me tremendously. I've never forgotten what it felt like to finally be understood. I've been drawn to real, vulnerable conversations ever since, and now I get to have them every day.

Why focus on women’s mental health?

This work has touched me personally. After becoming a mom, I experienced depression after weaning and, like so many parents, a stretch of parenting burnout. Living through it showed me how much hormones, sleep and caregiving shape how we feel, and how often women's needs get overlooked. I want women to have care that's built around them.

What about outside of work?

I'm originally from the Midwest and have called California home for about 20 years. I'm a mom of two grade-school-aged kids, so life is full!

What do you do that supports your mental and emotional well-being?

I make time for connection and movement. I'm a people person, and being social is how I relax and feel supported. Moving my body keeps me my nervous system and mind grounded.

MY APPROACH

How we will work together

I tailor therapy to you, drawing on approaches with strong research behind them.

  • Client-centered therapy. You set the pace, and I follow what matters most to you.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Practical tools for shifting unhelpful thoughts and patterns.

  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Skills for intense emotions, distress and relationships.

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Making room for hard feelings while moving toward what you value.

  • Interpersonal therapy (IPT). A focus on relationships and role changes, with strong research support during pregnancy and postpartum.
